Breaking the vicious circle

NEHEMIA school in Ilo, Peru

Anyone wanting to break through the cycle of poverty has to make sure that children receive a good upbringing and education.

In many countries, fees must be paid even for state schools. In addition to this, there is the cost of a school uniform and educational materials. Poor families cannot afford this. They already have enough trouble earning their living. Parents send their children out to work or beg. This means, however, that they are denied the opportunity to improve their living conditions right from the start.

By means of our school projects, we enable thousands of children to go to school, thereby giving them a hopeful start to the future.
