»Cairo banquet«

- At least once a week….

- … having a proper meal

- … at the Cairo banquet

- Fellowship: Food for the soul
Since June 2011 Nehemia has been supporting a feeding program for poor people in Cairo. It all started with 50 children but in the meantime it has grown greatly and now this project employs three people and has many volunteers who help.
Every Friday poor people in the vicinity of an independent Christian church receive help. On Saturdays and Sundays over one hundred children come, also from other areas. Games and a program that is geared to their age and finally a meal together meet the social, spiritual and physical needs of the children.
In order to meet demand they had to build an added kitchen and rent an area for games. But the vision is even bigger. »We dream of helping 400 children every day of the week«, says the leader of our partner organization in Cairo. There is a great need. It is estimated that over 200,000 children live on the streets.
