It gets left behind

“You can’t take it with you,” as they say. And it’s quite true - we cannot take any of what we have stored up in this life with us when we embark on the last journey. But we can make sure that what we leave behind will be a blessing to others beyond our death.

Deciding for yourself

Those, in particular, who do not have any close family, have to consider whom they will leave their estate to. Few people would choose the state. However, if no will has been written and no legal heirs can be found, the inheritance will go to the state.

Acting before it is too late

For this reason it is important to settle the question as to whom we want to leave our estate to before it is too late. It is legitimate to want the material gains from our life to be used for goals that we share. Remembering Nehemia or another charitable organization in a will is a good way of doing good beyond death.
